There are many enemies of the Lord, for many generations and more to be, but death is the last enemy Jesus will destroy. Jesus defeated it but has not destroyed it yet.

NKJ 1 Corinthians 15:26
The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

NKJ Revelation 6:8
So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

I. Death came to the world because of the consequences of sin.

a. Disobedience and pride. Things can be defeated by obedience and humbleness.
b. NKJ Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned
c. NKJ Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

II. Because no one can escape death, no one can escape from judgment.

a. NKJ Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
b. Babies die, children, the youth die, you can be mature and die, it doesn't matter if you are healthy or not, we all die one way or another

III. The problem is not whether I will die or how I am going to face death, But we should ask these two questions;
1 Where are you going to spend eternity?
2 What am going to do to enter heaven?

a. GOD is not pleased with a sinners death.

NKJ Ezekiel 18:31
31."Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, 0 house of Israel?
32 "For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies," says the Lord GOD. "Therefore tum and live!"

b. To have eternal life with Christ, you need to look for righteousness.

NKJ Romans 2:7-8
7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;
8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness --indignation and wrath,

c. If we die doing sin or live a sinful life, we will be condemned for eternity

NKJ John 5:28-29
28 "Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice
29 "and come forth -- those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

NKJ Revelation 21 :7-8
7 "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which bums with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Be humble and obey the gospel of Christ to defeat death in the waters of baptism.

NKJ Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
